Our work
The questions that guide our work
Every Humedalia action starts with a question about water, life, and the people who depend on wetlands. This is how we work to answer them.
Water
How much life depends on a single wetland?
Carbon
How do marshes and mangroves capture carbon?
People
How do communities live alongside the wetland?

01 · Ecological restoration
We bring water back to life
We breed and reintroduce native species, control invasive species, reforest, and restore hydrological dynamics so the ecosystem can function on its own again.
02 · Scientific research
We decide with data
We study sediments, insects, zooplankton, and invasive species. Our data supports management decisions and conservation strategies.

03 · Environmental education
We grow awareness
We connect children and communities with the value of wetlands through workshops, tours, and activities like building chinampa seedbeds or our bird workshop.
04 · Sustainable development
Fair use of resources
We promote agroecological production on the chinampa and community tourism, alongside partners like Huella Chinampera, for fair and sustainable use.
